A 24-year-old youth named Bapi Roy was arrested by Matigara police for stealing gold jewellery from his neighbor’s house in the Panchkolguri area. The burglary took place on June 8 while the house was vacant.
The house owner, Sanjay Thakur, had left for work, and his family was away in Bihar. Taking advantage of the empty home, Bapi Roy, who resides nearby, broke the lock, entered the house, and stole a gold chain along with two gold earrings from the cupboard.
Upon returning home, Sanjay discovered the theft and promptly filed a written complaint at the Matigara police station. The police acted swiftly, launching an investigation that led to the arrest of Bapi Roy. The stolen jewellery was recovered from his residence.
