AURELIUS, N.Y. – A Tonawanda man has been charged in connection with a theft investigation at the Bass Pro Shops store in Aurelius, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.

Paul Tagliarino, 35, was arrested on July 9 and charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. The charge follows a months-long investigation that began on April 9, when deputies responded to a theft report at the store.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Tagliarino visited the store multiple times over several weeks, each time purchasing some items while concealing and stealing others without paying for them.

After being identified, Tagliarino later turned himself in to authorities. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Aurelius Court on July 30.

The investigation remains active as the Sheriff’s Office continues to review evidence related to the case.
