ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Five individuals are facing criminal charges in connection with the theft of hundreds of rare sneakers from a warehouse owned by Marcus Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan. The burglary occurred early on October 10, 2024, just hours after Hurricane Milton made landfall.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, three masked men were caught on surveillance video ransacking the warehouse and stealing between 300 and 400 pairs of valuable sneakers—estimated to be worth over $20,000. The suspects also stole a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van belonging to Jordan and used it to transport the stolen goods.
Investigators identified the suspects after one was spotted wearing a pair of the stolen sneakers, which led to a search warrant and further arrests.
The five men charged are:
Kahmari Jones-Shipley
Channing Rattcliffe
Scott Wimbley Jr
Timothy Mitchell Jr
Allen Wimbley
Charges vary among the suspects. Allen Wimbley faces a charge of dealing in stolen property, while Jones-Shipley and Scott Wimbley Jr. are charged with grand theft of property valued at $20,000 or more.
The case is ongoing, with further legal proceedings expected.
