In a significant breakthrough, Suryapet police arrested two real estate agents on Thursday for their involvement in a series of thefts reported in the district over the past few days. The police managed to recover two stolen cars and 16 stolen bikes, collectively valued at Rs 30 lakh, from the accused.
The arrested individuals, K Narsing Rao and B Prasad, had devised a unique modus operandi to steal vehicles. They would hire cars along with a driver for business trips. Once on the road, they would persuade the driver to consume excessive alcohol under the pretense of drinking together. After the driver became heavily intoxicated, they would abandon him and drive off with the vehicle.
