James Wooten II Arrested in Cross Lanes Theft Case

Suspect identified after stealing firearm accessories

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of ammunition and firearm accessories from a Rural King store in Cross Lanes, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified the suspect as James Wooten II, who was taken into custody on a shoplifting charge. Store loss prevention personnel confronted Wooten and were able to recover $469.92 worth of stolen merchandise before he became aggressive and fled with additional items concealed on him.

After deputies released a photo of the suspect, members of the public helped identify Wooten, leading to his arrest.

Wooten has since been arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court and released on bond.
