A 19-year-old mason from Rajasthan, L Velaram Meena alias Sunil, has been arrested in connection with a high-value burglary in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. Police recovered gold and diamond ornaments worth approximately Rs3 crore from him.

The theft occurred at a house in Judicial Layout, where the owners were away in the US. The owners discovered the theft after reviewing CCTV footage on their mobile devices and asked a relative to file a complaint with the police.

Investigations revealed that Meena had planned the burglary six months prior while working in a nearby building. He broke into the house through a sliding window and stole 1.8 kg of gold and diamond jewellery.

The complaint was filed on February 16, and the accused was arrested two days later, on February 18. Authorities recovered the stolen items from Meena’s residence in Rajasthan, closing the case swiftly.
