WEST FARGO, N.D. — A 26-year-old man has been arrested following a stolen vehicle incident late Monday night in West Fargo.

Police responded around 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 9 to the 3300 block of Sheyenne Street after receiving a report that a vehicle had been stolen. The caller told officers the vehicle had been left running with the keys inside when it was taken.

Approximately 20 minutes later, officers received an alert from the Flock Safety Camera System indicating the vehicle had been spotted near 7th Avenue East and 17th Street East. Police located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

Authorities said the driver tried to flee, but officers successfully pinned the vehicle in a cul-de-sac near the 700 block of 50th Street South, preventing a pursuit.

The driver, identified as Andrew Charles LaFoutaine, was arrested and charged with felony theft, theft from a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, and driving under the influence. He also faces multiple probation violations.

Officials confirmed there were no injuries to the suspect or emergency personnel.
