Nellore Police Arrest Thieves, Recover Gold & Cash

Sivasankaraiah & V Naresh held for robbery incidents

In two separate incidents, Nellore police arrested two thieves on Thursday and recovered stolen gold ornaments weighing 130 gm, worth Rs 18 lakh, along with Rs 14,000 in cash.

The accused were identified as N Sivasankaraiah from Indukurpet village, Nellore district, and V Naresh (22) from Kesarajupalle village, Tipparthi mandal, Nalgonda district, Telangana.

Additional Superintendent of Police Deeksha stated that on February 1, Sivasankaraiah robbed Rs 20,000 from Subhamasthu Photo Framework shop in Santhapet. A case was registered following a complaint by shop owner P Saikumar, and Sivasankaraiah also has a murder case pending at Alluru police station.

In a separate incident, V Naresh befriended a woman over the phone and borrowed Rs 6,000. On August 27, 2025, he lured her to Radhakrishna Lodge, offered her a soft drink laced with an intoxicant, and stole 130 gm of gold ornaments while she was unconscious.

Both accused were apprehended by a special party led by Santhapet police station CI YV Somaiah while they were roaming suspiciously near Nellore railway station.
