WATERVLIET, N.Y. — Watervliet police have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery at a Stewart’s Shop earlier this month, authorities said.
Police identified the suspect as Keven Stebbins, 36, who allegedly robbed the store at 2458 Second Avenue on Jan. 19. Investigators said Stebbins displayed what appeared to be a handgun tucked into his waistband during the robbery.
Stebbins was quickly identified as a person of interest. Despite having no fixed address, police said they were able to locate and arrest him with assistance from surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Authorities later recovered a replica Glock BB gun, which police say was used during the robbery.
Stebbins was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, and petit larceny. He was remanded to the Albany County Jail pending further court proceedings.
