BATON ROUGE, La. — A Baton Rouge man has been arrested following an armed robbery and shootout outside a local business earlier this month, police said.
According to arrest records, Jackie Jackson Jr., 29, was outside the Neighborhood Snack House on Annette Street on Jan. 2 when he allegedly pulled out a firearm and demanded money from another person. Investigators said the victim handed over $20.
Police say Jackson then fired multiple shots. The victim responded by drawing their own firearm and shooting Jackson in the abdomen.
After the incident, Jackson reportedly drove himself to a hospital, where he received medical treatment and was later taken into custody by authorities.
Jackson was booked on charges of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
