JUPITER, Fla. — Deputies arrested a man Thursday afternoon in connection with an alleged petit theft, according to official booking records.

The suspect, identified as Timothy M. Ryan, a White male, was taken into custody on suspicion of petit theft involving merchandise valued between $100 and $750. The arrest is documented under Report No. 564406 and was published at 2:46 p.m. on January 1, 2026.

Authorities did not release additional details about the alleged incident, including the location, the type of merchandise involved, or whether Ryan was apprehended at the scene.

Under Florida law, petit theft is a misdemeanor offense, though penalties may vary depending on prior convictions or other factors. Prosecutors will review the case to determine whether formal charges will be filed and how the matter will proceed through the court system.

As with all criminal cases, the allegations are accusations only. Ryan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
