6 Arrested in Jabalpur Beedi Stabbing Case: Victim Critically Injured

Youth stabbed over refusal to give beedi, police act swiftly

A shocking stabbing incident occurred in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, involving a dispute over a beedi. The crime took place in Shaktinagar, Badanpur area under Gadha police station jurisdiction and was captured on CCTV.

The victim, Abhay Rakeshia, was standing near his friend’s house when Amit Ben and an accomplice arrived on a bike and asked him for a beedi. Abhay refused, which enraged the duo, leading Amit to attack him with a knife, causing serious injuries. The assailants then fled the scene.

Eyewitnesses quickly informed the police, and Abhay was rushed to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical Hospital for urgent treatment.

Police identified and arrested six accused involved in the attack. They are Shani Jangade (22), Aman Kewat (20), Ankit Giray (20), Anshul Malik (21), Govind Guru (18), and Karan Giray (20), all residents of nearby localities.

Family members stated that the attackers were habitual troublemakers. Additional SP Suryakant Sharma confirmed the arrests and said police are conducting checks at major intersections to curb rising stabbing incidents in the city.
