18-Year-Old Madison Resident Arrested in Drug and Fraud Scheme

Massimo Suzuki-Scotti faces multiple charges after yearlong investigation into LSD distribution and sale of fraudulent government documents.

MADISON, NJ — Massimo Suzuki-Scotti, an 18-year-old resident of Madison, NJ, was arrested on May 5, 2025, after a yearlong investigation uncovered his alleged involvement in drug distribution and the sale of fraudulent government documents. The arrest took place at his Elm Street home at 7:20 a.m. following a search warrant executed by Madison Police detectives.

The investigation, a joint effort between the Madison Police Department’s Division of Investigations, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, and the United States Postal Inspection Service, began after reports surfaced about Suzuki-Scotti’s involvement in illegal activities within the borough.

According to the Madison Police Department, Suzuki-Scotti faces several serious charges, including two first-degree counts of selling or transferring false government documents, distributing over 100 milligrams of LSD, and conspiracy to offer a false government document for sale. Additional charges include third-degree possession of LSD, marijuana distribution under five pounds, possession of false identification documents, and receiving stolen property. Suzuki-Scotti also faces a third-degree money laundering charge.

Suzuki-Scotti was processed at the Madison Police Headquarters and was remanded to Morris County Jail pending a first appearance in Superior Court.

A second individual, Caitlyn N. Van Order, 23, also from Madison, was arrested on May 6, 2025, in connection with the same investigation. Van Order was taken into custody at her Main Street residence and faces charges of possessing psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana under five pounds (both third-degree offenses). She is also charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana in quantities between one ounce and five pounds.

Van Order was released from custody pending her first appearance in Morris County Superior Court.

The investigation also received support from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Special Enforcement Unit, the Morris County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation, and the K-9 Unit.

Authorities emphasize that all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
