11 Suspects Held in SBI Kokrajhar Theft Case

Kokrajhar Police bust inter-state burglary gang

In a significant crackdown on organized burglary, Kokrajhar police have arrested 11 suspected members of a theft gang allegedly involved in multiple burglaries across Assam. The arrests were made during coordinated operations across Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon districts.

The gang, reportedly based in West Bengal and Bihar, includes:

Amit Kumar Yadav (35)

Rohit Guwala (30)

Kuber Guwala (30)

Dipak Singh (55)

Munna Guwala (30)

Sharma Guwala (55)

Ajay Guwala (48)

Rahul Kumar Yadav (40)

Soney Guwala (25)

Ruplal Singh (55)

Jitto Guwala (50)

Police believe the group is responsible for a recent theft at the SBI Kortpara branch, where Rs 2 lakh was reportedly stolen from a Bolero vehicle belonging to contractor Barenda Basumatari.

The investigation is being spearheaded by Additional Superintendent of Police Prithviraj Rajkoa. Authorities are withholding further details to preserve the investigation’s integrity. More arrests could follow as the case unfolds.
