The Crime Branch of Indore Police on Saturday arrested two youths from Dhar for allegedly smuggling 2.475 kg of cannabis into the city. The illegal drug, valued at approximately Rs50,000 in the international market, was being distributed among addicts in Indore.
According to Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya, the arrests were made near Chaitanya Hanuman Mandir on MR 04 Road after police noticed the duo acting suspiciously at the sight of a government vehicle during a routine check.
The accused were identified as:
Zeeshan Khan (20) — a ceiling fan installer
Rehan Khan (19) — a motorcycle mechanic
Both are residents of Dhar. Upon questioning, they admitted to buying cannabis at low prices and selling it at higher rates in Indore for quick monetary gains.
Police recovered:
2.475 kg cannabis
A motorcycle used in smuggling
A case under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station. Further investigation is in progress.
