KINSTON, N.C. — Zebroan Artis, 41, was arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation, according to the Kinston Police Department.

Officers responded February 15 at approximately 8:46 p.m. to a disturbance near East Lenoir Avenue, where a victim reported that Artis had stolen their vehicle. Police later located the vehicle at the Carver Court Apartments and reviewed surveillance footage showing Artis and another unidentified male exiting the car.

Based on the evidence, officers obtained and executed a search warrant. Inside the residence, they found Artis along with Elenore Hargrove, 41, and Deontae Lender, 34.

Artis was taken into custody without incident and remains held at the Lenoir County Jail. Hargrove was arrested and charged with resisting, delaying, and obstructing a public officer but was later released after posting bond.

Lender was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office for non-support of a child and was transferred to the sheriff’s office’s custody.
