JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) — A 19-year-old Jonesboro man, Zander Hill, has been formally charged in connection with a shooting incident that targeted a woman while she was Door-Dashing on May 7.
Craighead County District Court Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause on Wednesday, May 14, to charge Hill with second-degree battery and conveyance of a terroristic act.
According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire near Latourette Lane and Medallion Circle, where residents said a black car opened fire at a silver vehicle before fleeing the scene. Two 9mm shell casings were recovered at the site.
The victim later contacted authorities, stating she had recognized the black Chrysler 200 that followed her from a stoplight on Parker and Caraway Roads. She claimed her ex-boyfriend, a passenger in the black car, began shooting at her vehicle while Hill was driving.
The shots shattered glass, injuring the woman’s left shoulder with flying debris.
Witnesses corroborated the account, saying a man had leaned out the rear driver’s side of a black car and fired several shots toward the silver vehicle.
Judge Fowler set Hill’s bond at $35,000 cash or surety and issued a no-contact order with the victim. Hill is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, June 27.
