Zamboanga Man Alias Almisal Arrested in P6.8M Drug Bust

PDEA seizes 1 kg shabu in Sinunuc village anti-drug operation

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Law enforcement officers arrested a man known as alias Almisal and seized approximately P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs during an anti-drug operation on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Sinunuc village.

PDEA-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Ryan Babang confirmed the arrest of the legal-aged Zamboanga resident at 7:06 p.m., around eight kilometers west of the city hall.

Authorities confiscated one kilogram of shabu, cleverly packed in a gold tea pack labeled “Guanyinwang,” along with buy-bust money.

Almisal is currently detained while facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation was conducted by PDEA operatives with police support, following several days of surveillance on the suspect’s illegal activities.

Director Babang emphasized that the campaign targets sources of illegal drugs and aims to dismantle distribution networks within the Zamboanga Peninsula.
