Mangaluru North Police arrested Zakir Hussain (38), a resident of Gujjarkere-Jeppu, for allegedly stealing Rs1.28 lakh from a goods vehicle. The police recovered Rs70,000 in cash and a mobile phone purchased using the stolen money.
According to authorities, Zakir, a native of Kasaba Bengre, was apprehended near Mannagudda junction. The recovered items were seized as evidence, and further investigations are underway to trace the remaining stolen cash.
Police officials confirmed that the accused is in custody and will face charges related to theft and misappropriation of property.
