The Cyber Police Srinagar carried out a raid in the Rajbagh area on Sunday, detaining two individuals in connection with an online fraud case. Officials confirmed that office-related documents and electronic equipment were recovered during the operation.
The detained suspects have been identified as Zaffar Ahmad Mir, a resident of Aramwari, Rajbagh, Srinagar, and Sudeep, a Nepalese national currently residing in rented accommodation in Aramwari, Rajbagh.
The action is linked to FIR No. 20/2025, registered at the Cyber Police Station Srinagar under Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act and Section 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said further investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about the fraud operation.
Authorities are working to determine the full extent of the network and trace any financial or electronic trails associated with the online scam.
