LACEY’S SPRING, Ala. (WAFF) — Two individuals were arrested and charged after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen gun in Lacey’s Spring on Thursday.
The incident took place on Hwy 231, where the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office initiated a stop on a vehicle with no tag. Upon contacting the suspects, deputies deployed K9 Deputy Boaz, who alerted them to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle uncovered two bags containing methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a gun that was reported stolen.
The driver, 35-year-old Zachary Kevin Huber, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession/receipt of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $1,300.
The passenger, 32-year-old Mary Denise Soto, was charged with unlawful possession/receipt of a controlled substance and had a bond set at $1,000.
Both suspects were booked into the Morgan County Jail following their arrest.
