BAINBRIDGE, Ga. — A daycare worker at Little Blessings Child Care was arrested Monday following allegations of child abuse, according to the City of Bainbridge Public Safety.
Yvette Thurston, 54, was taken into custody on charges of first-degree aggravated battery and three counts of first-degree child abuse, police confirmed. A total bond of $44,000 was set by Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Emmons.
Jail records show Thurston has since bonded out of the Decatur County Jail.
The daycare, affiliated with the Bainbridge Church of God, has not responded to requests for comment. Surveillance footage from the facility played a significant role in the investigation, police said.
The child involved was treated at a local hospital, and the family has shared photos of the boy with permission granted to WCTV for publication.
Authorities continue to investigate the case as more details emerge.
