Authorities in Manipur’s Imphal East district arrested 13 individuals, including two female drug pushers, Yumkhaibam Bebe and Yumkhaibam Albani, during a special anti-drug operation in Khetrigao. The operation also led to the confiscation of 28 vials of heroin powder, which was burned publicly in front of the media.
The arrested individuals, aged between 24 and 40, were found in possession of the heroin, which had been purchased from the two women. After counseling, the drug users were handed over to their families. The authorities have given Bebe and Albani a week to surrender.
This operation is part of an ongoing effort by the KMPUC to combat drug abuse in the region.
