YouTuber Manoj Kumar Singh Arrested for Burglary in Cuttack

Motivational speaker stole gold and cash while posting online

The Commissionerate Police in Odisha arrested 42-year-old YouTuber and motivational speaker Manoj Kumar Singh from Khajuripada, Baideswar area of Cuttack, in connection with a burglary case. According to Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh, Singh would give motivational speeches on his YouTube channel during the day while committing thefts at night.

Police released a video showing Singh delivering a speech about reforming criminals, highlighting the unusual double life he maintained.

The case was registered at Bharatpur Police Station following a complaint by Subhashree Nayak, whose rental home at Khandagiribari in Bhubaneswar was broken into. On August 14, the couple left for work, only for her husband, Debabrata Mohanty, to return and find the house burgled. Gold ornaments worth 300 grams and Rs 5 lakh in cash were stolen.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested Singh and recovered 200 grams of gold, Rs 1 lakh in cash, and one two-wheeler. Investigations revealed that Singh had mortgaged 82 grams of stolen gold at UNI Gold, Nayagarh, for Rs 4.73 lakh.

Singh was produced in court and sent to judicial custody, with authorities likely to seek remand for further inquiries and to apprehend his associates.
