In a breakthrough, the Gokalpuri Police Station team has solved a burglary case at a local jewellery shop with the arrest of the accused, Yogesh Kumar, 24, resident of Gokalpur Village, Delhi. The arrest led to the recovery of approximately 20 grams of gold, 1.65 kg of silver, a tablet, and two mobile phones.
The case began with a complaint filed by Karan Verma, who owns a jewellery shop in Gokalpuri. He reported that on the morning of July 13, 2025, he discovered that the roof of his shop had been broken open and valuables were missing. He had last closed the shop around 9:00 PM on July 12.
A case under sections 305/331(4) of the BNS was registered, and an investigation was launched by a special team led by Insp. Praveen Kumar, SHO of PS Gokalpuri, under the supervision of ACP Deepak Chandra. The team collected CCTV footage and activated informant networks to track down the suspect.
A targeted raid was conducted based on intelligence, leading to the arrest of Yogesh Kumar. All stolen items were recovered from his possession. Police continue to investigate whether the accused is involved in other similar burglaries.
