Authorities in Palm Beach County have apprehended a man linked to a series of boat and trailer thefts in the area.
The Sheriff’s Office identified 45-year-old Yoandi Castillo as the suspect in the theft of a boat in West Palm Beach last month, along with three trailers that had their VIN numbers altered. Surveillance footage from a nearby resident shows Castillo towing away the stolen boat.
Further investigation revealed Castillo’s vehicle was also spotted at a storage facility, where authorities found the stolen trailers. Castillo was reportedly attempting to modify the trailers using stolen wood.
He now faces charges of burglary, grand theft, and operating a chop shop.
