DALLAS, TX – Dallas rapper Yella Beezy was arrested on Thursday, March 20, and charged with capital murder in the 2020 killing of Houston rapper Mo3 (real name Melvin Noble). According to Dallas County inmate records, Yella Beezy was picked up by authorities at 4:45 p.m. local time. He is accused of intentionally and knowingly causing Mo3’s death. No bond has been listed for his release.
Mo3 was tragically shot and killed on a Dallas interstate in November 2020, just days after the murder of rapper King Von in Atlanta. Dallas County grand juries indicted two men – Kewon White and Devin Brown – in connection with Mo3’s death. White, 22, was indicted in February 2020, and Brown, 28, was indicted in April of the same year.
According to reports, jealousy played a significant role in Mo3’s murder. Brown, who was already in custody by the time White was arrested, revealed that he became upset after discovering Mo3 was dating a “known witness.” He also referenced a Facebook video involving Mo3, but denied being involved in the shooting.
Phone records placed White near Mo3’s apartment on the night before the murder, and data showed several calls between White and Brown in the days leading up to the tragic event. Brown eventually pleaded guilty to federal charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute a controlled substance.
In addition to his role in the case, White was also indicted on charges of aggravated assault related to Mo3’s murder.
Mo3, a rising star signed to Boosie Badazz’s label, BadAzz Music Syndicate, was only 28 years old at the time of his death. According to documents, Yella Beezy is accused of enlisting White to carry out the murder.
