ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in New Orleans has been arrested in St. Bernard Parish.
Authorities with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office (SBSO) apprehended 35-year-old Yawn Dubose of Chalmette, who was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for an alleged armed robbery.
During Dubose’s arrest, SBSO deputies reportedly seized a Taurus TH9 handgun, multiple types of narcotics, and $3,517.87 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug transactions.
He faces numerous felony charges, including:
Possession with intent to distribute MDMA (Ecstasy), fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, Tapentadol, and marijuana
Possession of THC resin, psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance
Possession of a controlled substance in the presence of minors under 17
Possession of proceeds from drug transactions
Dubose is currently being held at the St. Bernard Parish Prison, with bond set at $395,000.
Authorities have not released further details about the armed robbery charge pending additional investigation.
