In a tragic incident, Kerala police arrested 25-year-old Yasir on March 19 for allegedly hacking his wife, Shibila, to death at Engapuzha in Kozhikode district on March 18. Yasir, who is reportedly a synthetic drug addict, fled the scene after the brutal attack around 7 p.m. He was arrested later at the Kozhikode Medical College premises.
Shibila succumbed to her injuries at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, where her parents, P. Abdurahiman and Haseena, who tried to intervene during the attack, also sustained serious stab injuries. The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime.
