BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Xisen Guo, a man from China, has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of maintaining a drug-involved premises. Guo, a naturalized U.S. citizen, is the first individual in Maine to face federal charges for such an offense.

Court documents reveal that Guo transformed a house in Passadumkeag into a sophisticated illegal marijuana grow operation. Authorities were drawn to the home due to unusual spikes in electricity usage, covered windows, and the unmistakable smell of marijuana.

Guo’s guilty plea marks a significant moment in Maine’s ongoing efforts to tackle illegal drug activity.
