Xaelyn Dunbar Arrested for Threatening Social Media Comments on UTSA Vigil

19-year-old charged with terroristic threats ahead of Charlie Kirk vigil

SAN ANTONIO — A 19-year-old man was arrested after police say he posted threatening comments on social media regarding a planned vigil for political activist Charlie Kirk at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

According to the arrest affidavit, Xaelyn Dunbar commented on a Facebook feed for the San Antonio Young Republicans prior to the event, stating, “This is a disgrace and I can tell you right now ima make sure this won’t be a good nor comforting vigil yall watch and see.”

Dunbar added, “ima make this movie me and my truck,” and when challenged, he replied, “you’ll see tmr I jus wouldn’t advise tryna stop a ford 250 Diesel truck. Show yall how much Charlie really means,” according to police records.

Following the threatening posts, officers conducted a welfare check at Dunbar’s residence, where he admitted to posting the messages. UTSA police arrested Dunbar on a charge of terroristic threat. He remains held on a $40,000 bond.
