MOORESVILLE, N.C. (WKRC) — A woman is facing serious charges after allegedly stabbing a car salesman and stealing a brand-new 2024 Cadillac Escalade during a test drive in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Authorities responded to the Randy Marion Chevrolet dealership on December 7 following reports of an assault with a knife. The victim, an employee of the dealership, had been accompanying 52-year-old Demika Porterfield on a test drive when she allegedly attacked him. According to police, Porterfield pulled out a knife during the drive and stabbed the employee, causing superficial wounds to his face and hands.
The salesman managed to wrestle the knife away and throw it to the back of the vehicle before escaping. However, Porterfield then drove off with the Escalade, leaving the scene. Authorities later found the stolen SUV at a nearby rest area and launched an extensive search for Porterfield.
Porterfield was eventually located and arrested. She now faces charges including robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. She is being held without bond.
