A woman, Jumi, a native of Punnapra in Alappuzha, was arrested after police confiscated drugs worth Rs 2 Crores that were smuggled from Bengaluru to Kozhikode. The drugs were intended for distribution in the city. Jumi was arrested on Friday in Bengaluru, as part of a police operation targeting a drug trafficking ring.

Earlier, two men, Albin Sebastian and Shine Shaji, both from Peruvannamuzhi, were arrested in connection with the same case. On May 19, the police had seized the drugs, following a tip-off that they were being sold from a rented house in Puthiyangadi. Authorities believe the arrested individuals are major players in distributing drugs around Kozhikode’s beach and shopping malls.

Shine Shaji, one of the previously arrested individuals, has a criminal history, having served a two-year sentence in a similar case. Following his release, he reportedly resumed his involvement in drug trafficking.

The police are continuing their investigation into the drug network, aiming to identify further links and individuals involved in the operation.
