Nanaimo, British Columbia – Tamara Prince, 41, was arrested on December 21, 2024, in connection with a robbery at a jewelry store in Nanaimo, British Columbia, though one suspect remains at large. Prince was charged with possession of stolen property and theft over $5,000, following a robbery on October 2, 2024, in which thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen.
The incident took place in North Nanaimo, when Prince and accomplices allegedly targeted a jewelry store. During the robbery, the store owner was sprayed with bear spray, which resulted in injuries. Following the robbery, another suspect, James Stoppard, 39, was arrested at the scene.
Prince has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on January 7, 2025. However, Robert Hawkins, 45, remains wanted for his alleged involvement in the robbery. Hawkins faces multiple serious charges, including robbery, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, and theft over $5,000.
Hawkins is described as white, six-foot-one, and heavy set. Despite efforts by the Nanaimo RCMP, Hawkins has not been apprehended, and warrants for his arrest are still active. Authorities have urged the public to help locate him, with information directed to the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
Police continue to investigate the robbery, and additional updates are expected as the search for Hawkins intensifies.
