Samut Songkhram, Thailand — A 31-year-old woman, identified as Chaloda, was arrested for drug possession in Samut Songkhram after police discovered methamphetamine pills during a routine operation targeting drug trafficking activities.
The arrest occurred in Moo 6, Tha Kha subdistrict, in the Amphawa district. Police officers, led by Kochanat Patthawichai, had received complaints from local residents about potential drug-related activities in the area. This prompted them to launch an investigation and assemble a task force under the supervision of Phetkla Thaveekarn, Superintendent of Amphawa Police Station.
During the operation, officers observed Chaloda riding a motorcycle and acting suspiciously. Upon approaching her, the police found 89 methamphetamine pills concealed in a resealable plastic bag. The drugs, which are classified as Category One narcotics in Thailand, were immediately seized, and Chaloda was detained for questioning.
A subsequent urine test confirmed that Chaloda had methamphetamine in her system. During her interrogation, she explained that she worked at a local restaurant and claimed the drugs belonged to her deceased boyfriend. Chaloda told police that she had intended to deliver 10 pills to a friend who had placed an order. Afterward, she planned to consume the remaining pills with the friend in a nearby garden. However, the rising tide had made the area inaccessible, prompting her to ride around instead, which ultimately led to her arrest.
Chaloda now faces charges for possession of a Category One drug and illegal consumption of methamphetamine. She is currently in police custody and undergoing legal proceedings in accordance with Thai law.
