TOMAH, Wis. – A 29-year-old man, Mark A. Sayre Jr., was arrested Saturday night after authorities say he broke into a storage facility and attempted to steal property.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly before noon Saturday to a theft complaint at a storage facility on 22475 State Highway 21. The initial report noted that several campers, including one belonging to the reporting victim, had been broken into.
Later that evening, deputies received another call about a suspect actively stealing items at the same facility. Authorities said the suspect had cut a hole in the fence to gain access.
Deputies deployed K-9 Rebel, who located Sayre near a vehicle where a catalytic converter had been removed. He was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, and potential charges have not yet been released.
