BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing more than $15,000 from his employer through a mobile banking forgery scheme, authorities announced.

Wilson Octavio Hernandez-Flores is accused of repeatedly depositing altered payroll checks using a mobile banking app, taking advantage of a delay in the bank’s fraud detection system, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the 90 Proof Bar on U.S. Highway 90 after the owner reported suspicious financial activity. An internal investigation led by a financial accountant allegedly uncovered multiple unauthorized transactions tied to Hernandez-Flores, an employee at the bar.

Investigators say he admitted to stealing a total of $15,948.75 through fraudulent mobile check deposits.

Hernandez-Flores was arrested on-site at the bar and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on Saturday, charged with forgery of a financial instrument, according to jail records.
