DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Authorities have arrested Willie Richardson II in connection with a shooting that injured a woman in Hartsville, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) confirmed.

Richardson faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted individual, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Officials said on Tuesday he also faces charges of stalking and harassment of a victim.

Deputies responded to a shots-fired call on Cherry Laurel Drive on Friday, finding a woman with gunshot wounds. Richardson had reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to the arrest warrant, Richardson had contacted the victim 20-30 times earlier that day and continued to reach out while deputies were on scene. The victim told officers a “no contact order” was in place between her and Richardson.

A Darlington County Magistrate denied bond for Richardson on Monday. A bond hearing for his additional stalking and harassment charges is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
