ABERDEEN, N.C. — Authorities arrested William Joseph Moore, 35, of Cameron, this month as the second suspect in the theft of over $100,000 worth of equipment from a construction trailer in Aberdeen.
The trailer was reported stolen on May 30 from a site near Legacy Lakes. While the trailer was found abandoned in Harnett County on June 11, the valuable equipment inside was missing.
Following a tip, police executed multiple search warrants on June 26 alongside the Moore and Harnett County Sheriff’s Offices, recovering $116,490 worth of stolen equipment.
Moore faces charges including felony larceny, larceny from a construction site, possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretense, and habitual felon status.
He is the second suspect arrested after Kourtney Chere Moore, 29, also of Cameron and William’s wife, was charged with felony conspiracy to commit larceny on June 28.
