Telenovela Star William Levy Arrested in Florida for Trespassing, Public Intoxication
Cuban-American actor and telenovela heartthrob William Levy was arrested Monday in Weston, Florida, on charges of public intoxication and trespassing, according to local law enforcement.
The 44-year-old was booked into Broward County’s Main Jail and remained in custody until appearing in court on Tuesday afternoon. A judge set his bond at $500. No further details about the arrest have been released, and Levy’s representatives have not yet responded to media inquiries.
Levy rose to fame through his roles in popular Spanish-language telenovelas, including Triunfo del amor, Cuidado con el ángel, and Sortilegio. He also gained mainstream recognition in the U.S. when he competed in Season 14 of Dancing with the Stars in 2012, finishing in third place with pro dancer Cheryl Burke.
Born in Cuba, Levy moved to Miami as a teenager and landed his first TV role in the 2005 telenovela Olvidarte jamás. His breakout came a year later with Pasión, which launched a successful career in Mexican television.
Beyond telenovelas, Levy appeared in several Hollywood productions, including Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016), The Veil (2017), and Killing Sarai (2019). He also famously starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in her 2011 music video I’m Into You, and made a cameo in the 2017 comedy Girls Trip.
Most recently, he co-starred in the Telemundo drama Vuelve a mí with Samadhi Zendejas.
Despite the legal trouble, Levy remains active on Instagram, frequently posting photos of his two children — Christopher Alexander (19) and Kailey Alexandra (15) — whom he shares with longtime ex-partner Elizabeth Gutiérrez. The couple, who began dating in 2003 after meeting on the reality show Protagonistas de Novela, confirmed their separation in early 2024.
