William Daniel Moore to Stand Trial for Detroit Murder

Harper Woods man charged in fatal March shooting of Emmanuel Draughan

by Sophia Bennett

A Harper Woods man will stand trial for the murder of a 21-year-old Detroit man fatally shot earlier this year on the city’s east side.

Wayne County prosecutors allege that William Daniel Moore shot Emmanuel Draughan on the evening of March 12 at a home in the 14700 block of Tacoma Street. Draughan was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.

Detroit police arrested Moore on March 17. He faces charges including first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and two counts of felony firearm.

Moore was arraigned and jailed on March 31. Following a preliminary hearing on May 29, he was bound over for trial.

The case remains pending as Moore prepares to face the charges in court.
