CHEYENNE, Wyo. — William Brandon Curry, a Laramie County resident born in 1969, has been charged with four felony counts of forgery for allegedly defrauding a local resident of more than $8,800 using forged checks in 2023.

The charges, filed in the First Judicial District Circuit Court in Laramie County, allege that Curry issued four checks to himself totaling $8,803.08 in June 2023, marked for “HVAC Repair #92-051-0264.” If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison, fines of up to $10,000 per count, or both.

The fraud was reported on July 20, 2023, after two Burns residents noticed unauthorized withdrawals from their Blue Federal Credit Union account. One complainant stated he did not know Curry personally.

Investigators linked Curry to the checks through surveillance photographs from multiple Blue FCU branches in Cheyenne. The images reportedly showed Curry cashing the forged checks, with his clothing matching security photos collected by Cheyenne Police from a separate forgery incident on June 26, 2023. Additional identification came from a Colorado ID collected during the investigation.

A warrant for Curry’s arrest was issued on Aug. 8, 2023, and he was served with the warrant on Nov. 7, 2025. He remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
