Yovani Ramirez Mendoza, 28, was arrested following a police raid on his Whitewater home on June 19, 2025. Officers from the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit and other agencies executed a search warrant after an investigation into illegal drug sales in Whitewater.
During the search, authorities seized cocaine, suspected DMT, THC, psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. They also discovered a large indoor psilocybin mushroom growing operation in the basement.
Mendoza, who was out on bond at the time, faces numerous felony charges, including:
Maintaining a drug trafficking place
Possession with intent to deliver cocaine, THC, DMT, and psilocybin (all 2nd & subsequent offenses)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of a firearm by a felon
Felony bail jumping (3 counts)
Child neglect (with no specified harm)
The drug charges include criminal enhancers due to the property’s proximity to a school.
On June 20, Mendoza’s cash bond was set at $20,000, covering six other open cases. His adjourned initial court appearance is scheduled for June 24.
Also involved is 34-year-old Stephanie Anguiano, who faces charges including possession of a firearm by a felon and maintaining a drug trafficking place as a party to a crime, along with child neglect. Additional investigation is ongoing.
