WESTPORT, MA — Walter Brewster Gomes, 36, was arrested early Wednesday morning after Westport Police Officer Sean Munzing stopped his vehicle for a missing front license plate. The traffic stop, which took place around 1:38 a.m. on February 5 along State Road, led to a series of drug-related charges for Gomes.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Gomes informed Officer Munzing that he did not have his license with him. A subsequent check revealed his license was suspended. Gomes was placed under arrest, and during the booking process, police discovered a significant quantity of drugs.

Authorities found:

31 grams of suspected crack cocaine
29 grams of suspected cocaine
A bag of suspected Adderall pills
Gomes was charged with trafficking a Class B controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a Class E controlled substance (Adderall), and several motor vehicle offenses.

This arrest is part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and keep the community safe.
