West Bengal Police Arrest Hajrat Ali in Murshidabad Murder Case

Hajrat Ali Held for Father-Son Killing During Murshidabad Violence

West Bengal Police arrested Hajrat Ali, also known as Fitu, early morning on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in connection with the murder of a father-son duo during communal mob violence in Murshidabad on April 12.

Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Murshidabad range, Syed Waquar Raza, told The Hindu that Ali was arrested from Pakur in Jharkhand by a joint team comprising the Samsherganj police station and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe incidents of violence in Murshidabad.

The arrest comes less than a month after the tragic murder, marking a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.
