
COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. — Wesley Keith Carroll was arrested on August 27 in Bladen County following a multi-county investigation into a series of vehicle thefts and property crimes, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) reported.
The investigation began on August 25 after deputies responded to a stolen vehicle report in Bolton near N.C. 211. Upon arriving, investigators discovered another abandoned vehicle, which was confirmed stolen from Scotland County.
The CCSO collaborated closely with multiple agencies, including the Richmond County, Scotland County, Robeson County Sheriff’s Offices, Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Department of Probation and Parole. This joint effort led to the identification of Carroll as the primary suspect.
After obtaining arrest warrants, a coordinated operation between Bladen and Columbus County deputies resulted in Carroll’s capture and the recovery of the stolen Columbus County vehicle.
During the investigation, stolen property was also recovered and returned to victims across Columbus, Scotland, Richmond, and Robeson Counties.
Carroll faces numerous charges, including four counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, three counts each of larceny after breaking and entering, and breaking and/or entering, two counts of parole violation, and injury to personal property.
Due to probation and parole violations, Carroll is being held without bond at the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
