A 41-year-old Medina woman, Wendy D. Northrop, has been arrested and charged in connection with a stolen credit card investigation in Lima, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Northrop faces:
Two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny (Class E felonies)
One count of second-degree identity theft (also a Class E felony)
The charges follow a May 28 report from a business on Rochester Street, where deputies responded to allegations that a credit card had been stolen and used to make unauthorized purchases starting around April 22.
Following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division, Northrop was identified as a suspect and arrested on August 26. She was transported to Livingston County Jail, processed, and held for pre-arraignment detention.
Northrop was arraigned before Judge Sue Mahany at Livingston County’s Centralized Arraignment Part and was released on her own recognizance, as the charges do not qualify for bail under New York’s Bail Reform Act.
She will appear in Town of Lima Court to answer the charges.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Northrop at arraignment. The District Attorney’s Office was also present during proceedings.
The investigation involved both the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
