Wendy Mbeke Muli Arrested for Cocaine Smuggling at JKIA

Woman caught ingesting pellets to evade arrest at airport

by Amelia Crawford

Wendy Mbeke Muli, a 26-year-old woman, was arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on June 13, 2025, after attempting to smuggle cocaine by ingesting drug pellets. Anti-Narcotics detectives became suspicious of her behavior during routine screening, triggering an alarm that led to further investigation.

Under medical supervision, Wendy excreted a total of eight cocaine pellets over two days, containing approximately 626.65 grams of the drug. The attempt to conceal the substances inside her body cavity was a desperate move to evade arrest.

The Anti-Narcotics team intercepted Wendy just minutes before she was set to board an outbound flight. She is now in custody and will be arraigned in court on charges related to drug trafficking.
