A Chadbourn man has been arrested and charged with felony child abuse following an investigation by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
According to court records, 31-year-old Wayne Keinzle was taken into custody on August 8 in connection with injuries sustained by an 11-month-old child who was in his care.
The incident occurred on July 31, and the child reportedly suffered multiple injuries, including trauma to the head, face, and arm, as well as a split lip.
Keinzle was charged with felony intentional child abuse inflicting serious physical injury. He received a $500,000 secured bond, which he posted shortly after his arrest.
Keinzle is scheduled to appear in court on October 22 at 10:45 a.m. at the Columbus County Courthouse.
The case remains under investigation.
