Wayne Clarkson (born 24/05/1971), a resident of Atlow Drive, Wythenshawe, has been sentenced to two years and nine months in prison following his conviction for domestic violence at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday, 5 September 2024.

The charges stem from a series of violent incidents that took place between November and December 2023. On 25 November, after an evening of heavy drinking, Clarkson damaged property in his home, including a TV, and used scissors to cut his partner’s clothing. This escalated into physical violence, resulting in bruising and a bloodshot eye for the victim.

Just over a week later, on 6 December, Clarkson struck his partner in the head with a modified mop handle, causing an injury. A third assault occurred on 29 December when Clarkson visited the victim’s home and again assaulted her. During the altercation, the victim managed to escape, but Clarkson caused further damage to the flat and stole her phone.

Clarkson was convicted of several serious offences, including intentional strangulation, assault, and witness intimidation. His actions have now led to a substantial prison sentence.
